Reflexing roses is a delicate floral technique that is widely used nowadays. From hand-tied bouquets to weddings - reflexed roses add more interesting look allowing to fill up more space.
But in order to get the same longevity and perfect appearance of the flower you need to follow some rules:
• use only dehydrated or not-too-fresh roses;
• petals love clean hands - wash and dry them before you start;
• remove the guard petals first - then gently pull the petal back with your thumb in the middle, curling both edges out;
• proper curling on both sides of the petal keeps them from folding back or breaking;
• if you feel that the petal starts breaking - do not try to pull it back completely, just make half of the curl;
• do not reflex if the bud is too tight - first try to put the stem in warm water for some time or hold the rose upside down with both hands and begin gently twisting the stem back and forth with your hands.
